We are proud of our reputation for providing great quality Irish food to our customers, and being big supporters of Irish producers.
Recently, we were visiting our beef supplier who is based in Killeshin village, Co. Laois. During this meeting we were delighted to hear of other quality food producers in the locality. These neighbouring food businesses were literally just fields apart. As a result, we decided to extend our time on the day to meet with each of the indigenous businesses and to check out their product range. It was a very informative day indeed, and we were impressed by their products and philosophies.
Customers can now find The Village Dairy, and 12 Acres Brewing Company stocked on our shelves. The Village Dairy are producers of craft milk and cream. You may have noticed their popular Jersey milk in store, which is produced from the pedigree Woodtown Jersey herd. You will find it and their great organic range in the milk fridge. From craft milk to craft beer, the 12 Acres Brewing Company are a family run farm business. Unlike other microbreweries, they brew using their own malted barley and spring water.
The last producer we met with was Bolton Family, an artisan jam maker. All of the jams are made with the fruits from their own orchards. We will be seeing them on our shelves sometime soon.
Our trip to Killeshin village certainly proved to be productive. We love to support Irish, and family run businesses.
Look out for these products next time you are in-store.
